Giulietta arrives

Giulietta arrived safe and sound at the San Francisco International Airport in California today, from Milan International Airport in Italy. She had to stay overnight in Paris and board the next flight because the cargo temperature was too low in the original airplane...poor thing! Air France took good care of her, though, and she was in happy spirits when we saw her for the first time. We bathed her as best we could with a damp washcloth, gave her jerky treats and water, and she slept on my lap the entire trip home!

Morgan found Giulietta

We had asked Morgan Ivaldi (Romeo's breeder) to help us find a female Cane Corso puppy, and he traveled to Rome to evaluate this litter of puppies. He picked this fawn female, who was the most robust of the litter and sent us photos he took of her. She was already named Arianna (which we didn't know until we received her pedigree months later!) but what better name to go with our Romeo than Giulietta?

Morgan sent us another photo of Romeo today...how wise he looks for just a baby puppy!

Formentino?

Hmmm...Romeo seemed to have changed colors on us. He is no longer grey, but what the Italians call "formentino" which means grey fawn. For a split-second, we were a little disappointed because we originally wanted a grey puppy, but only for a split-second...we had already fallen in love with him and we had already made up our minds that Morgan is who we wanted to get a puppy from!

Grey Male Puppy?

We were so excited to have finally found the grey male puppy we were looking for! There were two grey males in the litter, but this is the one that we eventually chose (I think!):

Romeo is born

Romeo was born in Genoa, Italy today! His sire is Curgan, who is solid black and his dam is Morgana, who is fawn. His breeder is Morgan Ivaldi and he is the first born of the litter.

Giulietta is born

Giulietta was born in Rome, Italy today! Her sire is Multi Ch. Simon and her dam is Giada, both of them fawn. Her breeder is Mauro Crocicchia, owner of Giada.
