ARBA Golden Gate Classic
We went to our first dog show this weekend, the ARBA Golden Gate Classic in Hayward, California. We met a lot of other Cane Corsos and their owners for the first time, as well, such as Anthony from So. California with his Parco del Po female, Dave from So. California with his Scandifio fawn male Tyrus, Steve & Deborah from Lincoln with their brindle female Katana, Tom and Timna with their Parco del Po male Eli, Rich from Woodland with his brindle female Luna, Keith from Hayward with multiple dogs, Jack from Arizona with his black male, a couple with a blue brindle female, and even more dogs & owners whose names I can't remember right now.

Anyway, Giulietta won her first CAC-US (Championship point) as Winners Bitch and Best of Winners!

Puppy Fun Match
We all had our first showing experience at a Puppy Fun Match in Orangevale, California today. Romeo took Best of Breed Puppy and Giulietta took Best of Opposite Sex Puppy, which was all they could compete for being rare breeds (non-AKC recognized). The ground was quite moist from the rain, so we sloshed around a little bit, but we had a great time despite that! We met a lot of people, all wanting to know "what breed of dog is that?"

Obedience Training
Romeo and Giulietta began their obedience training today. We enrolled them in private lessons at Alert K9 Training Center in Brentwood. Their trainer, Ryan Tulchinsky, was very impressed with their temperaments and was glad to see how food-motivated they both are!

Romeo arrives
Romeo arrived at San Francisco International Airport in California today, from Milan International Airport in Italy. We could hear him even before we could see him...he was screaming and biting at the bars on the kennel door! However, as soon as we opened the door, Romeo was happy and stopped all the fussing. He was so angry because he HATED being in his own mess, but he cleaned up just fine and was as sweet as could be from then on...what a relief! Here is a photo of him all cleaned up:
